路过波士顿：一张火车票和一个小奢望

   波士顿是美国最古老、最重要的历史文化名城之一，它是美国东北部（常称“新英格兰地区”）的文化、教育、金融、医疗和交通中心。波士顿有很多大学，包括世界著名的哈佛大学和麻省理工学院（MIT）。哈佛大学是美国现代植物学和古植物学的摇篮之一。

   波士顿与中国在贸易、教育等方面的友好交往历史源远流长。哈佛大学是最早接受中国留学生的美国大学之一。

（1）关于新英格兰

New England is a region of the Northeastern United States comprising the six states of Connecticut, Maine,  Massachusetts, New Hampshire,  Rhode Island, and Vermont. New England is bordered by New York to the west, Long Island Sound to the south, the Atlantic Ocean and the Canadian province of New Brunswick to the east, and the Canadian province of Quebec to the north.

   目前，中国在美国首都Washington D.C.设有一个大使馆，还在纽约、芝加哥、休斯敦、旧金山及洛杉矶设有总领馆。
