1894年：入读Sheffield Scientific School

1900年：因工伤致残，不幸失去左臂

1929年：担任McKenna Process Company总裁

1945年：第1次退休

1947年：71岁的George Langford Sr. 开始第2次职业生涯，以古植物学家的身份供职于芝加哥Field自然历史博物馆（Field Museum of Natural History，Chicago）

1962年：第2次退休

1964年：在芝加哥逝世，享年88岁
