Madeleine  Colani（1866--1943）

--最早涉猎中国古植物学的外国女性

   在20世纪20年代之前，中国的植物化石基本上由外国人采集和研究，也基本上由男性主宰这个行当，罕见女性。法国女博士Madeleine Colani（1866--1943）是最早涉猎中国古植物学的外国女学者。

       Madeleine Colani是法国考古学家、地质学家和古植物学家。1866年，Madeleine Colani出生于法国东部的Strasbourg（与德国相邻）。1943年，Madeleine Colani在越南河内去世。

       1914—1928年，Madeleine Colani作为唯一的一名女性研究者供职于印度支那地质调查局（Geological Survey of Indochina）。期间，Madeleine Colani研究了中国云南的有关植物化石。1920年，Madeleine Colani发表云南第三纪植物论文：
