German palaeobotanist and  palaeo-entomologist Carl Friedirich Goldenberg (1798—1881)

          德国古植物学家和古昆虫学家Carl Friedirich Goldenberg 院士(1798—1881)于1798年出生于北莱茵-威斯特法伦州(North Rhine-Westphalia)的Wärmelßkirrshe镇。他是一个孤儿，所受正规教育不多。不到20岁，Carl Friedirich Goldenberg开始从事教学工作。1826年，他到位于萨尔兰州 (Saarland)的Saarbrücken任教，同时对该地区煤矿的动植物化石产生了兴趣。1836—1873年，Carl Friedirich Goldenberg担任中学数学和物理教师。

          Carl Friedirich Goldenberg在古生物学领域的的主要贡献是：对产自Saarbrücken石炭纪煤层的植物和昆虫化石进行了开拓性研究。例如，1855—1862年Carl Friedirich Goldenberg发表的论著—Flora Saraepontana fossilis属于19世纪中期德国古植物学的经典文献。

        1852年，Carl Friedirich Goldenberg当选为德国科学院院士(GermanAcademy of Sciences Leopoldina)，隶属于数学学科(???)，而不是地质古生物学。1873年，退休。1881年，在Saarbrücken去世，享年83岁。

--1826:  Taught at  in Saarbrücken of Saarland(萨尔兰州) and initiated interests in paleontology, especially fossil plants from coal mining;

--1829—1836: Assistant lecturer at the Saarbrücken(Ludwigs-) Gymnasium [zugleich Lehrer an derBergschule in Saarbrücken];

--1836—1873: Senior teacher in mathematics and physics at the (Ludwigs-) Gymnasium in Saarbrücken [Oberlehrer für Mathematik und Physik am (Ludwigs-)Gymnasiumin Saarbrücken];

--Founder of the geological and mineralogical collection in Saarbrücken;

--1848—1852: Member of the School Committee ofthe Synod of Saarbrücken;

--1852: Elected to the section of Mathematics ofthe German Academy of Sciences—Leopoldina;

--1854: Published the palaeoentomological work--

Die fossilen Insecten der Kohlenformationvon Saarbrücken.

--1855--1862:  Published the results of palaeobotanical studies on the Carboniferous plants from Saarbrücken--

Flora Saraepontana fossilis :Die pflanzenversteinerungen des steinkohlengebirges von Saarbrücken;

--1873: Got retired;

--1875—1877: Published

Fauna Saraepontana fossilis.Die fossilen Thiere aus der Steinkohlenformation von Saarbrücken.

--1881: Died in Saarbrücken of Saarland(萨尔兰).
