∮1德国植物学家Hugo von Mohl (1805--1872)

      德国杰出植物学家Hugo von Mohl (1805--1872)是19世纪中叶植物解剖学和植物生理学的代表人物之一。1805年出生于斯图加特，1828年获得杜宾根大学(University of Tübingen)医学博士学位。1835年开始担任杜宾根大学植物学教授，一直工作到1872年去世。

       Hugo von Mohl首先提出了细胞质/原生质(protoplasm)、细胞分裂(cell division)等概念、首次观察了植物气孔运动(movement of stomatal openings & closings)。他是孢粉学研究的先驱性人物。1834年，Hugo von Mohl发表“Ueber den Bau und die Formen der Pollenkörner”描述了植物花粉形态。

      Hugo von Mohl在学术界享有很高的声誉，被遴选为多个国家科学院(如：德国科学院、法国科学院、英国皇家学会、瑞典皇家学会、俄罗斯科学院、美国人文及科学院)的院士（外籍院士、通讯院士、名誉院士）。

--1828: Received a doctoral degree of medicine from the University of Tübingen;

--Worked with German botanist and explorer Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius (1794--1868) at University of Munich (Universität München) regarding the subject of plant anatomy;

--1832: Elected a member the German Academy of Sciences—Leopoldina in 1832;

--1835: Became professor of physiology at the University of Bern (Universität Bern); then, appointed as professor of botany at the University of Tübingen and stayed in Tübingen till the death in 1872;

--1838: Elected a corresponding member of the Académie des Sciences;

--1850: Elected a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences;

--1854: Elected a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg;

--1857: Elected a foreign honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences;

--1868: Elected a foreign fellow of the Royal Society in London;

--1872: Died in Tübingen, Württemberg at age of 67.
