卡罗林斯卡医学院(Karolinska Institutet)的诺贝尔大会已决定将 2022 年诺贝尔生理学或医学奖授予斯万特·帕博(Svante Pääbo,以表彰他“在已灭绝的人类基因组和人类进化方面的发现”。

2022年医学奖得主斯万特·帕博1955年4月20日出生于瑞典斯德哥尔摩(Stockholm, Sweden)。

获奖时Svante Pääbo隶属德国莱比锡马克斯普朗克进化人类学研究所(Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany)、日本冲绳冲绳科学技术研究所(Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Okinawa, Japan)研究员。斯万特·帕博是著名生物学家、进化遗传学权威。他还是美国、瑞典等国家科学院院士。斯万特·帕博的父亲苏恩·伯格斯特龙Sune Bergström曾是1982年诺贝尔生理学与医学奖得主。斯万特·帕博1986年于乌普萨拉大学(Uppsala University)取得博士学位。斯万特·帕博曾于1992年获德国科学基金会颁发的戈特弗里德·威廉·莱布尼茨奖(The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize)。1997年起,一直担任马普进化人类学研究所所长。2007年,被评为《时代》(TIME)全球最有影响力百人之一。2008年,被《 新科学家》(New Scientist)评为8位年度科学英雄之一。
