Massive Cheating by2000+ students in Chinese Examination
Improper behaviors by Chinese academia is no longer news in China. But this item as reported by CNN http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/world/2014/10/28/idesk-pkg-stout-china-cheating-scandal.cnn.html
In foreign countries all over the world is still shocking. Apparently, a large scale cheating using high tech devices at a state examination involving over 2000 or mores student was caught by the government. The video above is in English and need to be periodically restarted to hear the complete report.
What is sad about this matter seems to be the fact that so many students nowadays have very different moral and ethical STANDARDS about what is proper and legal than students one generation ago. Many apparently believe in getting ahead at any price; the feeling that if I don’t cheat than I’ll be left behind since everybody else cheats; and if I get caught, the punishment will be minor (which appears to be the case: the cheating students are prevented from taking the examination for 5 years)
I thank Professor Weibo Gong of U. of Mass for bringing this to my atrtention.
