One ofthe traditional rituals of the American summer is the “Cookout/Barbeque”. It is usually the man of the house who cooks meat on an outdoor grill using charcoal briquettes or bottled gas. Typical meats are chicken, salmon, lamb or beef, sparerib , hamburger, and hotdogs. For vegetables you try to boil corn freshly picked from local farmers market. The women of the house may also prepare a cold salad. Drinks are cold beer, wine, and ice tea. You invite friends and neighbors over. Everyone eat outdoors and have a good time. Later desserts, coffee, and after-dinner drinks are served under a moonlit sky and the party can last well into the night with great conversation and camaraderie. Here aresome pictures taken this year illustrating the good atmosphere.
