The interview may be of general interest since it chronicles the history of the Chinese Americans population of the town and its development of i nvolvement in town and community affairs through voluntary service, donations, and participation – an example of how a minority becoming mainstream America. Small town public and political affairs are non-partisan and democracy in its purest form and where individual efforts can make a difference and have influence. He was one of the "new frontiers men" served in the Kenndedy-Johnson adminstration from 1961-1969).
