(Notes added 10/14/08: three new photos added today at the end of this note)New Hampshire is one of the smallest states of the US. It has only two of the 412 congressional districts. Its claim to fame every four years is holding the first presidential primary in the Nation and the first town (Dixville Notch) in the nation to vote in every presidential election. The 10 registered voter of the village of Dixville Notch will gather in a hotel room to vote at one second past the stroke of midnight on election day. Radio TV will duly report the result immediately. (Note added on election day 11/4/2008: The population of this village has grown since my last checked. It now has 21 registered voters of thesa 15 voted for Obama.)   Beside this bit of history, the state is mainly known for tourist activities: Summer for water fun on its many lakes, Winter for skiing and other cold weather sports, and in the Fall, hiking and foliage viewing among its mountains and forests. During this time of the year, the maple trees will turn yellow and/or brilliant red, the oak trees brown amid the evergreens. They form a magic multicolored carpet on the land against the blue sky and while clouds. Thousands of tourists are drawn to such scene to hike and to just wonder at the scenery. Most years we drive from my home to NH for an outing. This year the scene is most spectacular. Here are some photos taking during the trips this year.

Looking out from Lower Beech Pond, Center Tuftonboro, NH (孤舟, 朝雾, 五彩山)

Along highway 109A NH - a singular spectacle

A farm house in Center Tuftonboro NH

Lake Wentworth State Park, NH

Panoramic view along a country road. However, the picture does not do justice to the actual scene since the green lawn in foreground and the distant lake cannot be seen. The actual view takes your breadth away.

A slightly better picture of the same spot (still cannot see the distant lake) and another panoramic view of Lower Beech Pond
