I mentioned this before in my Blog article on computational social science

that one of the advantages of being retired is the freedom from any kind of
obligation. One is free to pursue anything that interests him. One of my passions is to sample knowledge that I know little about. Today I attended a forum with the above title. Participants/speakers are half American political science scholars and half Chinese scholars visiting from China. Here are the session titles
But the interesting thing for an outsider is the new recognition of the intricacies of political science, and in particular, Chinese politics and policy making. As far as I can tell, all speakers spoke very candidly, fairly, and respectfully. Recorded below are random impressions and thoughts I gathered.
I came away with new respect and hope for the future of China.
