60 Years of NASA History
During the period 1957-2015:
from when the first Sputnik was lanuched and President JFK first challenged the nation to landing human on the moon,
to the last solar system and planets probe – fly-by the pseudo-planet, Pluto,
the US has done many “firsts” in outer space. This past months, cable TV post a review of the accomplishments in a two hour long show entitled “In the shadows of the moon”. I actually personally lived through this period and benefited from it http://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-916488.html. I also remember on the evening of the moon landing in July of 1969, I woke up my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter to watch Armstrong to take the historical first step on the moon by a human being.
Reliving these almost 60 years brought back a lot of nostalgia and sweet memories of my own life. In moments tears well up from the realization of my wonderful journey throughout the past 68 years. I am a lucky guy!
