美国“最佳译著奖”入围名单和决选名单中译自中文的作品

武夷山

最佳译著奖（The Best Translated Book Award）属于美国文学奖，每年奖励两种前一年出版的原初译著（博主：不是从其他语言的译著转译为本民族语言），小说与诗歌各一种。奖项是2008年设立的，由线上文学杂志“百分之三”（Three Percent ）的读者以投票方式选出获奖作品，由“百分之三”杂志颁奖。“百分之三”又是由美国罗切斯特大学所属的专注于译著出版的Open Letter Books出版社所创办的。一开始，这只是个荣誉奖项。后来，亚马逊公司提供赞助，则获奖图书的作者和译者各自能获得5000美元的奖金。  

下面是历年的决选名单（shortlist）和部分年份的入围名单（longlist），书名标为绿色的是最终获奖作品。这些名单总共包括180本书，译自中文的只有9本书，占5%，我已经用红色标出中文原著的书名和作者姓名。

相形之下，译自法语的有38部作品，译自西班牙语的有33部作品，译自德语的有21部作品，译自俄语的14部，译自捷克语的8部，译自日语的7部，译自葡萄牙语的6部，译自波兰语、荷兰语、匈牙利语、挪威语和瑞典语的各5部，译自阿拉伯语、罗马尼亚语、希伯来语和意大利语的各4部，译自波斯语的3部，译自阿尔巴尼亚语、冰岛语、丹麦语、韩语、克罗地亚语、立陶宛语、马其顿语、佛兰芒语、塞尔维亚语、斯洛文尼亚语、乌尔都语和南非荷语的各1部。

The award was announced March 10, 2010 at Idlewild Books.[7] According to award organizer Chad Post, "On the fiction side of things we debated and debated for weeks. There were easily four other titles that could’ve easily won this thing. Walser, Prieto, Aira were all very strong contenders."[8]
