In this talk, Mr. Murillo will address one point of intersection between
STS and Anthropology regarding the notion of "expertise". Based on
multi-sited ethnographic research at community-based spaces for computer
training in software and hardware development, he will present an approach
to the study of computing expertise with a focus on its sociotechnical
dimensions. The goal is to help advance theoretical and methodological
approaches to the study of global sociotechnical phenomena by creating
interfaces between STS and anthropology.
