这两天国外经济论坛Economics Job Market Rumors出现了一个帖子：Why are there so few remarkable Chinese economists?

帖子的内容主要是说：物理领域有杰出的华人物理学家（杨振宁），数学领域有杰出的华人数学家（陈省身），但是却没有杰出的经济学家。
原话1：Comparing with the fields like mathematics or physics, there are surprisingly few big Chinese names in the field of economics. There are multiple Chinese Nobel laureates and fields medalists in math physics and chemistry. Chinese have been doing some fantastic job in these fields. What happened to Chinese economist as I can not recall any notable Chinese doing good work in economics.
原话2：It's a joke because I'm talking about prominent scientists. Like the counterparts of C N Young or Shiing Shen Chern

其中有人提到了张五常，但是却认为张五常只是科斯的宣传者而已，完全不能与杨振宁和陈省身相提并论。原话是：
1：coase's favorite disciple was a chinese.
2：I would take this as a very good joke.
2：It's a joke because I'm talking about prominent scientists. Like the counterparts of C N Young or Shiing Shen Chern.

最后发表一下个人感慨：
中国有这么多的经济学家，但是却没有在世界上有影响的经济学家，这确实是值得国人深思的。杨振宁先生和陈省身先生的确大大长了国人的志气，他们都有自己的原创理论，分别是：杨-米尔斯规范场、纤维丛与陈类。

这样看来的话，中国经济学家有一个极大的问题是“缺乏原创”，如果只是为了“发表论文”而写论文，很难出现原创。

中国经济学界如此被外国人看不起，我觉得应该是值得国内经济学界警醒的！
