Two Post-Doctoral Fellowships starting Fall 2011
The Polytechnic Institute of New York University is looking starting Fall 2011 for high-caliber, qualified PhD to work with a team of internationally recognized researchers in the field of Organizational studies and Organizational Culture. The Post-doc Research fellow will work in the context of a large, multi-disciplinary and multifaceted research project sponsored by Catalyst, the internal Think Tank and Research Center of Mars, Inc. This position is a full-time position, grant-based with 2 years term. The successful candidate will be situated within the Department of Technology Management at NYU-Poly. There is a significant opportunity to investigate many aspects of organizational culture in various geographies and industries. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to work on specific studies but will have development opportunities to realize their potential.
The successful candidates will have a PhD, a strong command of social science research methods and a keen interest in organizational theory and organizational culture. The successful candidates will demonstrate strong skills in qualitative research methods (e.g. grounded theory, multiple cases, interviews, participant observation, etc.) as well as the ability to publish in internationally-leading scientific journals. Past research and practical experience are preferred.
Successful candidates will play a significant role in the research group, be highly motivated, and show strong teamwork and organizational skills.
There are some highly significant outputs expected from the project and these include:
• Dissemination of research outcomes in top, peer-reviewed academic journals in relevant disciplinary areas as well as the presentation of findings at leading conferences around the world.
• Reports prepared for the Senior Management of Mars Inc. that transmits rich description about the culture in various units, segments and geographies of the companies.
• Assistance to the chief investigators in the administration of the project.
Candidates should have a PhD, from accredited university or institution, in disciplines relevant to organization culture such as management, psychology, sociology, and organization studies. One of the position requires fluency in Mandarin(一个职位需要流利使用中文).
