戈达德 Robert Hutchings Goddard, 1882-10-05~1945-08-10

美国火箭专家、物理学家。现代航天学奠基人之一。

一、戈达德:慎言不可能,昨日之梦想,今日有希望,明日变现实

   著名科学家、液态燃料火箭发明人戈达德有句名言:

   “慎言不可能,昨日之梦想,今日有希望,明日变现实。”

  

   原来是 1904年,戈达德(22岁)在高中毕业演讲中说的:“很难说什么是不可能的,昨天的梦想是今天的希望,也是明天的现实。 It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.

二、类似的观点

   孔子在《论语·卫灵公》中说:

   “工欲善其事,必先利其器。

              

   老子《道德经》第五十四章:

   故以身观身,以家观家,以乡观乡,以国观国,以天下观天下。吾何以知天下然哉?以此”。

                

   以及和现代的 Chaitin 定理(1966年)很像。
