做的东西大致如下。我们仔细考察了教材上有关费米黄金规则(fermi golden rule)的推导。发现在某些特定的情况下,可以利用sinc函数的某个数学性质。这个性质使得fermi golden rule非常自然,并且,还会导致transition probability的演化不光滑,也就是周期地存在kink。我们用非常简单的一维tight binding model来展示这一效应。

摘要: We point out that in the first order time-dependent perturbation theory, treated in every quantum mechanics textbook, the transition probability may behave non-smoothly and have kinks periodically. Moreover, its detailed temporal evolution can be sensitive to the exact locations of the eigenvalues in the continuum spectrum. Underlying this non-smooth and level resolved dynamics is a simple equality about the sinc function $\sinc x \equiv \sin x / x$. We use a one dimensional periodically driven tight binding model to illustrate these effects, both in and outside of the perturbative regime.
