Position Title: Marketing Executive

Department: China Marketing  

Manager: Senior Marketing Manager

Working Location: Beijing, China

Wiley China Marketing group is offering Market Executive role with primarily focus on Research marketing in China, mainly responsible for OPEN ACCESS field marketing by working closely with Research teams (editorial and marketing) to:

  • Align with publishing growth strategy, facilitate and generate robust OA article submission opportunities from Chinese health science & life science communities;

  • Engage and impact life science researchers and authors, promote portfolio of key OA titles and escalate solid thought leadership

Job Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Work with team leader to develop and implement a China OA content acquisition marketing plan;

  • Reaching out to key institutes, researchers and KOLs, through virtual and physical channels and promoting OA portfolio and impact;

  • Engage with key authors and KOLs through virtual and physical programs and develop and maintain Wiley communities and author network; Collaborate with editorial to grow OA content growth pipeline and deliver projects and programs to achieve the objectives;

  • Keep constant communication with marketing and editorial teams, and create journal value story for editorial to engage with researcher and KOLs;

  • Work with editorial team to plan and deliver digital campaigns for growing article submission and visit authors and organize physical and virtual author events;

  • Review article submissions with editors and work with marketing to track article submissions influenced by marketing activities and campaigns and enhance OA content marketing;

  • Explore new partnership with leading social communities and platforms in key disciplines to promote portfolio of OA and thought leadership; Grow audience of OA through social platforms and drive returns of social campaigns;

  • Collaborate with gov affair director to engage gov bodies and research funders; Facilitate OA programs to impact key institutes, society partners, and KOLs;

  • Reporting weekly and monthly on marketing activities, and quarterly reviewing key initiatives and progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in life science or health science field, proven research background is highly desirable.

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in doing research, have basic knowledge on Open Science and Open Access journals.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in academic publishing industry or working with research community, understand pain points of Chinese authors and researchers and their needs are highly desirable.

  • Customer focus, have ability to gain insight into customer needs, uses customer insights to drive and guide the development of new offerings.

  • Experience in digital and social media marketing is highly desirable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills in English and Chinese.

  • A good team player within cross-functional global and local teams, be logical, independent, proactive and results driven.
