《进化应用》:渔业引发的种群演化的生理学视角

近日,来自Shaun S. Killen(University of Glasgow)在Evolutionary Applications发表了关于渔业引发的种群演化的观点。


越来越多的证据表明,密集的捕捞压力不仅会耗尽鱼类资源,而且还会导致鱼类种群的演化。特别是,野生鱼类种群的体型和繁殖力可能会因渔业造成的高死亡率而发生变化。虽然这些变化可能对鱼类种群的生存能力产生重大影响,但也存在一系列与体型无直接关系的特征,这些特征也可能影响渔具捕获的易感性,从而影响渔业诱导进化(FIE)。

Evolutionary Applications is a fully peer reviewed open access journal, impact factor 4.694, ranks at 9/49 Q1 in Evolutionary Biology. It publishes papers that utilize concepts from evolutionary biology to address biological questions of health, social and economic relevance. Papers are expected to employ evolutionary concepts or methods to make contributions to areas such as (but not limited to): medicine, agriculture, forestry, exploitation and management (fisheries and wildlife), aquaculture, conservation biology, environmental sciences (including climate change and invasion biology), microbiology, and toxicology. All taxonomic groups are covered from microbes, fungi, plants and animals. In order to better serve the community, we also now strongly encourage submissions of papers making use of modern molecular and genetic methods (population and functional genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenetics, quantitative genetics, association and linkage mapping) to address important questions in any of these disciplines and in an applied evolutionary framework. Theoretical, empirical, synthesis or perspective papers are welcome.
