论文摘要:Strategies to tune thermal transport in conducting polymers are proposed by Dong Wang and co-workers in article number 1702847. Molecular dynamics simulations show that rationally tailoring the chain length and the crystallinity dramatically suppresses the lattice thermal conductivity along the polymer backbone. As a consequence, one order-of-magnitude increase in the thermoelectric figure of merit is achieved.

论文摘要:The hierarchical chiral self-assembly of peptides in evaporating liquid film is reported by Wei Qi and co-workers in article number 1700514. By changing the fluid mechanical effects under two distinct regimes: the “coffee ring” effect caused by outward capillary flow and the Rayleigh convection by buoyancy force, the peptides could self-assemble into well-aligned nanohelixes with their axis parallel or perpendicular to the substrate.

论文摘要:Xiaoliang Zeng, Rong Sun, and co-workers report the manipulation of the orientation of silicon carbide nanowires (SiCNWs) in polymers in article number 1700446. The oriented, thermally conductive networks constructed by SiCNWs achieve efficient heat transfer: fabricated epoxy/oriented SiCNW composites present a high thermal conductivity of 10.10 W m−1 K−1 at low filler loading (5 wt%), while only 1.78 and 0.30 W m−1 K−1 are achieved for epoxy/random SiCNW composites and epoxy/SiC nanoparticle composites, respectively.

论文摘要:Synergistic molecular mixing of FAPbI3 and CsSnI3 perovskites (FA=formamidinium) and formation of new crystalline alloy perovskites are reported by X. W. Sun, Y. Zhou, N. P. Padture, et al. in their Communication on page 12658 ff. The alloy perovskite of the composition (FAPbI3)0.7(CsSnI3)0.4 has an anomalous ideal bandgap of 1.3 eV for single-junction thin-film solar cells with an unusually high photocurrent.
