该会议由Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc、IEEE Industrial Electronics Society、IEEE Robotics and Automation Society、Robotics Society of Japan主办，基本是每年召开一次，会议论文集由IEEE出版，每届会议均选择优秀论文到SCI、EI收录期刊出版，该会议论文均被EI、ISTP收录。
