我在《情报学报》2018年11期发表了一篇论文“z指数评价学术期刊的适用性及其改进研究”，昨天收到该期刊编委 Ronald Rousseau的邮件，询问几个问题。Rousseau是国际知名的科学计量学家，2001年获国际科学计量学领域最高奖普赖斯（Price）奖，曾任国际科学计量学与信息计量学协会（ISSI）主席，与国内多个科研机构有合作。他能懂简单中文，但阅读不行。作为《情报学报》的编委，竟然认真地阅读每篇论文的摘要，这种认真负责的精神确实令人感动，我很快给他回了邮件，对他提出的疑问进行了说明。

大师就是大师，大师的存在除了对人类的知识贡献外，更多地让我们感觉到人性的高度，让我们内心的明灯不会熄灭。

Dear colleague,

I am trying to understand your article published in the lastest issue of Qing bao xue bao. As I do not read Chinese this is a hard task.

I understand section 2, as I know Prathap's z-index.  Then you claim that this index is not suited for the evaluation of an academic journal.  however, one can evaluate a journal from several aspects. From which aspect did you do the investigation and why is z not suitable? Then you propose a new index zn. How is this defined?  is it formula (8)?  (but there is no small n in it). 

In what sense is this new indicator '' better' ?
