HERMES 2014, Materials Modelling Summer School, London

Hermes 2014 is a unique summer school organised by PhD students for PhD  students. This entirely student-led event focusses on two key issues:  bringing together people and ideas in materials theory and simulation  across different length-scales, and the communication  of science.

The invited speakers for the event include Prof Craig Carter (MIT), Prof  Peter Gumbsch (Fraunhofer IWN), Prof Nicola Marzari (EPFL), Prof Sharon  Glotzer (U. Michigan) and Prof Mark Miodownik (UCL), who will give  masterclasses on materials modelling techniques  across the length-scales.

The event takes place from 25-28 July 2014 at Cumberland Lodge (a former  Royal Palace located in Great Windsor Park, Greater London).  Applications are now open and places limited. For more information,  visit http://hermes2014.org.
