I dare say most people know potato and have ever eaten potato. But in our daily life, most of the potatoes we see are yellow, rarely in other colors, and the shapes of the potatoes are similar. But in fact, there are thousands of kinds of potatoes with difference in colors, sizes, shapes in the world, especially in the Andean Area  of South America, the origin center of potato. The flesh or skin colors of the potatoes can be yellow, red, purple, grey, orange, and so on. Most potato tubers are round or oval in shapes. But some potatoes are in weird shapes!

Potato is rich in vitamin C and fibre besides abundant starch and a small part of protein.A single medium-sized potato contains about half the daily adult requirement of vitamin C. It is the staple food for people living in the mountain areas and many city dwellers. It can be cooked in various ways. It can be made into chips, slices, cubes in shapes,  and can be fried, mashed, boiled, or stewed with pork, beef, ribs or any other meat.

And the phrase Couch Potato is not really a potato on the couch. It refers to a person who spends most of his or her free time sitting or lying on a couch. This stereotype often refers to a lazy and overweight person. Do they look like potatoes?
