Scientific Reports的再分析

2016年年初我在科学网发表了博文“中国学者撑起了Nature 旗下子刊Scientific Reports的半边天”.

两年过去了,《Scientific Reports》的发展趋势怎样呢?该刊的办刊模式、办刊特色中有哪一些值得中国期刊人学习和借鉴的?

该刊自2011年创刊以来,前三年的发文量呈现指数级增长,2014-2016年呈现倍数增长。2017年,Scientific Reports 年度发文量25252篇,而中国所有SCI收录期刊(177种)在2007-2016共10年的全部发文量才221787篇(根据《中国科技期刊发展蓝皮书(2017)》的数据)。由此可见,该刊是如何的威武雄壮!中国仍然是该刊最大的作者来源,占据该刊总发文量(68,134)的37%以上,2017年中国在该刊的发文达到一万多篇,贡献发表费1亿以上。发文其次最多的国家分别美国、日本和欧洲国家。从发文机构来看,中国的中科院、中科院大学、上海交大、浙江大学、复旦大学等为中国的主要发文机构。发文数量靠前的机构中有很多都是大家耳熟能详的国际知名大学。

根据SCI 期刊引证报告(JCR)提供的指标,该刊的影响因子一直保持在一个不俗的水平。这是我们国内主办的大多数SCI期刊难以望其项背的地方。本刊高引用论文的引用频次达到2000多次,2017年发表的很多文章都已引用10次以上。这个值得我们好好研究和学习! 根据维基百科的介绍,该刊的编委会十分庞大,达到了1000人以上(Its editorial board is extremely large, with over a thousand listed members). 值得我们分析和学习借鉴。

用Bing搜索引擎搜索Scientific Reports,可以看到本刊在Facebook、Tweeter、Researchgate、 Academia等国际上重要的社交媒体和学术网站上都建有信息发布平台。中国的期刊编辑人员无法登录国际上重要的社交媒体,但是Researchgate,Wikipedia等重要的网站还是能够登录和发布信息的。

作为英文期刊的办刊人,我们要学习的还很多,当然政府和相关部门在营造有利于中国英文期刊发展的环境方面也还有很多要做的。 最近看到,2018年的期刊年检中明确要求对刊期短、发文量增长较多的期刊要重点审查,如果我们的新闻出版主管部门遇到Scientific Reports这样好像不存在刊期(应该也分配了一个期号)而且呈现爆炸性增长的期刊,该如何审查呢?
