Spalling repair is necessary pain, to remove loose concrete from an old apartment building. When I saw the notice last Thursday afternoon about the workmen moving to the floor below me, I was so happy: my floor is DONE (for now).

So, I stayed at home on Friday. Around 8:30 am, darkness fell! Someone blocked my windows again! I panicked! Because, this indicated that these workers were going to work on my floor again! I would be trapped inside with loud noises and fine dust! My front door was taped at the bottom, but I opened it: "Are you going to work on this floor again? The notice said you began to work on the floor below starting today." A few minutes later, the worker and I were in a shouting match!

As a condo board member, I knew the work needs to be done timely. So, I backed off, closing the front door. The worker came to re-tape the door, but he was cursing! I was blocking the door using a towel from inside and told him: "I CAN HEAR YOU!"

Next, I called the condo office, to report what happened. I was asked to idntify the workman, but I said no. I think the boss has to take the responsibility, that it, to put out a notice for TWO floors in this case. Well, a few hours later, a new notice was posted, indicating they would work on both floors on Monday, today.

All that was the introduction, about the background.

Shortly after 8 am, I was ready to escape from my sweet home, with my laptop and yoga essentials. I decided before I opened my front door to apologize to the worker, about my voice, which was too strong. (我是有理不让人。) To my great surprise, the worker greeted me with a big smile and explained to me that they only needed one more day to finish my floor... I smiled back, telling him that it's a tough job for them and I can totally understand them. Then, I wished him a good day, and left for my "virtual home."
