·      Use language that is easy to follow and not unnecessarily complex.

·      List each step in chronological order or time order. (See p83 for words that signal time.)

·      Explain each step in a separate paragraph. If two steps are done simultaneously, connect the two paragraphs with phrase such as “At the same time.”
