I have written about this in my earlier blogs. In a word it is “never waste anything (because you may need it someday)”. This year I found a beneficial use of kitchen waste here to share with everyone below:
Everyday we accumulate countless paper wastes in our kitchen used for wiping down greasy pans/dishes/spots or soaking up cooking fat/oil. These waste paper products cannot be recycled and thus they go straight to the rubbish can for disposal by the city and adds to the growing rubbish problem of the planet. This year I stared to collect these greasy waste papers in a Ziplock bag (so they don’t smell in the house). Whenever I wish to start a fire in our fireplace/pit, I use a few such grease soaked waste paper sheets as fire starters. They work excellently and much longer lasting than plain paper. Friends always marvel at my fire starting ability. Together with other fire ashes after burning, the remains can be used as fertilizer for gardening. Everyone is happy!
