唐诗英译闹出的笑话

偶然看到一些英译的唐人绝句，感觉有不少笑话。举个例子，韦庄的“金陵图”中有一句“依旧烟笼十里堤”，“十里”被译为“three miles ”。显然，译者算了一下，10里就是5公里，近似于3英里，所以就有了上述翻译。可以断定，这个译者显然不懂诗词。

无情最是台城柳，依旧烟笼十里堤。
