It was the year 1958, my first year returning to graduate school at Harvard. I still remember the newspaper publish the then astounding figure of the budget of the state of Massachusetts as 400 million dollars. The general public was shocked. This morning, 61 years later, the same newspaper carried a small headline that we just approved our state budget at 43.1 billion dollars – 100+ times larger. From experience and general knowledge, I know the average personal income/salary of people did not increase by that much in the same period. This explains much of what is wrong with the capitalist system on income inequality
