The New Mission of Contemporary Chinese Universities:
Cultural Inheritance and Innovation Based on Chinese Thinking and Bilingual Processing

Abstract: This paper aims to discuss the new mission of contemporary Chinese universities on human culture inheritance and innovation from both theoretical and practical views. It adopts the research method of bilingual information processing, including four basic divisions that complement one another: broad sense and narrow sense, Yan and Yu, macro and micro, world-view and methodology. The findings can not only involve fundamental problems of four research areas, namely informatics, linguistics, pedagogy and philosophy, but also form software engineering after the invention of the computer hardware, especially language processing and knowledge engineering, that means the virtual " third brain" – its popularization can form super interactive platform with collaborative intelligence, which will pose a profound impact on machines and people, learning and use, teaching and management, knowledge and practice and other complementary activities. This is a shortcut for contemporary Chinese universities to fulfill the new mission of human cultural inheritance and innovation, which is also the conclusion of this study.

当代中国大学新使命:
基于汉语思维与双语处理的文化传承和创新
摘要:本文旨在从理论和实践两方面论述当代中国大学传承和创新人类文化的新使命。采用双语信息处理的研究方法,具体包括:广义和狭义、言和语、宏观与微观、世界观与方法论,四组相辅相成的基本划分。其研究结果不仅涉及:信息学、语言学、教育学和哲学四个研究领域的根本性问题,而且,还可形成继人类发明电脑硬件之后的软件工程,尤其是语言处理和知识工程,虚拟的“第三脑”——其推广普及可形成具有协同智能的超级互动平台。它将会深刻影响:机与人、学与用、教和管、知和行等相辅相成的活动。这是当代中国大学完成人类文化传承和创新这一新使命的简捷途径。这就是本研究得出的结论。
