A girl named Ariana

                                                                         Ariana Eve Smith’s life

Ariana Eve Smith was a eleven-year-old girl with wavy auburn hair and sparkling grass green eyes. She was very pretty, but was a boisterous tomboyish girl who enjoyed soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, and badminton. She had a sister named Amy Aria Smith.

Ariana was nicknamed by many people. Some called her Green-eyed-girl, others Princess, or Diva, but her friends all called her Ari.

Ariana’s characteristics:

Smart

Pretty

Lively

Nice

Kind

Ariana Smith was a tween kid who liked cats. Her friend Elizabeth had given her a cartoon Pusheen the cat, something she loved. She was turning twelve after all, but she still felt like she was missing something out. One night, her mother told her to put away her Pusheen. She still felt glum, though she didn’t know why. She was just saddened and tried to find Pusheen. She brushed her eyes through her unruly auburn hair and cried. Ten minutes passed. Her red watery eyes were the most beautiful saddened eyes, but with a flood of tears all over her face, nobody could ever tell a soul how pretty it was. Despite teasing from her sister, she had continued to climb up to the top of the bunk bed. She tried not to laugh when her sister had tickled her. She wasn’t even in the mood to even smile. Yet, she hadn’t even bothered to say hello, or even nod a smile at her sister. She had never been so sad in her whole life!  Being pestered by her sister was indeed enough torture for her to face, but did she really have the nerve to argue with her mother about having her own bedroom? She didn’t think so, but maybe she did...So she went downstairs to her mother and confronted her, though her mother yelled her an insult. Her spirit was not damaged, luckily. She still wished she’d have enough money to buy herself a bedroom. Her mother had told her that she could buy a bedroom for one thousand dollars! That was impossible, since she had barely a hundred dollars and couldn’t even earn any, even though she had babysat and walked dogs, but those were all volunteering careers for her and she didn’t even do anything that earned her lots and lots of money! Heck, she didn’t even bother little kids when she saw this sign that said: “Hiring a babysitter! 50$ per hour! Babysitters need to be at least is 10 years old! Call 233-641-7689 for more!”Her mind split into two as they searched for many ways to reply to this ad. Her left brain went like this: I need to do this job, even if it means changing diapers! But her right brain said: Well, sure, no prob! I am older than 10, after all. So, why don’t I take this gut-clenching job anyway because I’m needing money and lots of it.

To her dismay, the people who were hiring a babysitter said that they already had somebody had already took the job. They also said that they had two kids, one boy named Edward Johnson and one girl named Samantha Johnson. They were both six year olds, though. This made her heart brighten! She didn’t need to change diapers! But then the people also said that they would give out 25$ per hour because they had two babysitters. Her grounding rules were pretty simple, she couldn’t help wondering if she would have her grounding rules changed into hard rules. The next day at school, the guys asked her if she wanted to play their weekly soccer game on Fridays. She had been part of it for a very long time, too. She shrugged the offer off, like all was fine and she had worries about nothing. But deep, deep, deep, down was her darkest secret. “Ari! C’mon! We found your lost Pusheen!” , shouted her best friends, Alexandria and Elizabeth. Oh no, thought Ariana. She thought: How do they know about my lost Pusheen? Did Amy tell them? She suddenly remembered that her sister had got her to spill the beans about her lost cat by nagging onto her like a flea on a lion’s mane, nipping at the lion. But she went to the place that her friends had told her to come in the first place. Her Pusheen was safe now, she thought. It was a relief for her to know that all that tears of pure sadness had been sucked in at her jaw and cheekbones. The Pusheen was still smiling at her but covered in dirt. The cloth on her Pusheen was not snowy white, but black like midnight. It was at least good to know that her BFF’s found her cat. Ariana stood slack-jawed, but then after a while she piped up, “How did you know that my Pusheen was lost?”

“Oh, yes, Ariana. I knew you would ask. As for that question, Elizabeth and I were trying to dig a deep hole enough to fit the tallest one of us when we came upon a white-and-black cat that looked like your Pusheen.”, said the nerdiest of her friends, the smart Alexandria. And being Ariana’s friend, Alexandria knew who was tallest: Ariana. Ariana knew that too, but she kept wondering: “Why would Alexia and Eliza even make her a manhole?” She had no idea, though. When she got home from school, she started writing in her diary. She knew... that she was oblivious. But then she realized that tomorrow was her graduation test. She had forgotten to study for such an important test that she blamed herself for pondering so much over that lame, useless, question. It might even probably be a big fat lie! But being Ariana, she knew she had naturally good grades. But it was also a shame not to even study a single word of that document that she’d printed out. Printing something took around thirty minutes, using her old, broken printer. But instead of studying for her assignment, she pulled out a sketchbook and started doodling. She drew Alexandria with her single braid that was red. She drew Elizabeth with her wild, curly red hair and freckles. On the pictures, she wrote: Alexandria Avery Wilson, and Elizabeth Henrietta Wilson. She couldn’t believe that Alexia and Eliza were twins. They were so different from each other, not to mention their talents and looks. She also wrote an “if” story for the school newspaper(Ariana’s column is full of “if ...” stories. They were very popular among the school and they became known as the “if” series. They made a new story each month, too. )about the American Revolution. It’s title was “If I Were In The American Revolution”.Then, awhile later, Amy came skipping into Ariana’s room and asked:”Can I have your Pusheen, please, Ariana, please?”But the answer was a blistering scar to the ears of Amy:”No”.

The next day, Ariana aced her test. She even got a “congrats” from her friend Alexandria. She was so happy, she didn’t even care about the Pusheen anymore. All she thought about was to do things that she had never done, like getting a congrats from her friend Alexandria. Usually, it was Elizabeth that would congratulate Ariana. But today, both cheered for their friends and for themselves, because they all knew one thing: They all aced the test. When Ariana went home. She gave her sister the Pusheen. “Yay! Thanks, Ari!” Ariana gave her sister a grin. She also gave herself a grin too because she’d done two right things in one day! Her fabulous day was not over yet!
