论文摘要:Directional solution coating using the Chinese brush provides a facile approach to fabricate highly oriented polymer thin films, by finely controlling the wetting and dewetting process under directional stress, as presented in article number 1606987 by Huan Liu, Chain-Shu Hsu, and co-workers. The as-prepared polymer thin films exhibit over 6 times higher charge-carrier mobility compared to spin-coated films, therefore providing a general approach for high-performance OTFTs.

论文摘要:In article number 1700550, multi-shelled hollow spheres with controllable shell numbers up to septuple shells are prepared for the first time by Ranbo Yu, Yu Zhang, Dan Wang, and co-workers, by adjusting the crystalline rate of the product. Used as the electrode material for alkaline rechargeable batteries, the unique multi-shelled hollow structures demonstrate many benefits for the electrochemical process.

论文摘要:Inspired by helical structures in nature, novel hydrogel microfibers with an embedded helical channel are fabricated with the guide of the heterogenerated rope-coil effect, by Qionglin Liang and co-workers in article number 1701664, using a microfluidic device. The perfusable microfibers allow the construction of more complex vessel structures in vitro, such as spiral arteries and tumor tissue.

论文摘要:May P. Xiong and co-workers construct multifunctional Pluronics F127 micelles for iron chelation and fluorescence detection by introducing tetraphenylethene and the chelating drug deferoxamine into self-assembling polymeric micelles in article 1700162. Deferoxamine can simultaneously be used to chelate iron(III) and quench the fluorescence emission of tetraphenylethene. This fluorescence “turn-off” process can be used to monitor the iron chelation process in an iron overload cell model.
