如何解决论文发表之后却发现图被误用了的情况

今年年初，有篇Optics Express最终发表了

在正式接受之前， Optics Express的编辑要求我们需要补一幅小图，也就是该论文的Fig.2，并且修改一些文字。
我们按照Optics Express的要求补上了一幅图，而且也被编辑接受了，然后很顺利地online了。
但是，登出来之后，很诡异的事情发生了。网上刊登出来的论文，正文部分用的是修改后的，（这个没问题），但是Fig.2用的是原来的Fig.2。这样一来，跟正文不符合，严重影响阅读。
当时冒了一身冷汗，因为这篇文章，感觉还是很有价值的，如果因为这幅图而破坏了这篇文章的价值那就太不值了。。
于是，赶紧给Optics Express的编辑写信，询问是否有解救的办法。
下面是正文，当时是抱着试试看的态度！

We are the authors of one recently published paper (Manuscript ID: 139599).
After our paper was published online,we noticed that Fig.2 of this published
paper was wrongly used.
According to reviewer's comment, we indeed redraw Fig.2 and submitted a new
version of manuscript as in the attachment, which was directly obtained
from Optics Express final submission system.
We did not know why the online version of this manuscript still contains the
old figures while other parts were newly revised.
It might be our fault or system errors.
Because this error might cause some misunderstanding to readers of this
paper,appreciate your help if you could let us replace Figure 2 with a new
version as in the attachment.
We also attached the corrected version of OE which was directly downloaded
from Optics Express final submission system.
Sorry that we have cause such a big trouble to you.

过来三天，终于收到Optics Express的回复，告知我们，他们帮我们替换了新图。

很是感谢Optics Express呀！真是好人。
不然我们就出洋相了。
我现在也没搞清楚到底是我犯了这么低级的错误（仅仅修改了文字却没有替换图，但是我感觉不像，不然如何过Topical Editor那一关），还是Optics Express投稿系统的缘故。
无论如何，虚惊一场，最后皆大欢喜！
如果大家碰到类似情况：论文在网上刊登出来去还是发现了严重的错误，不妨试一下，给编辑写信。也许能有好运气！当然，这种事情越少发生越好。
