成熟早一点的，感觉大学本科毕业后就不用再看了；成熟晚一点的，研究生毕业后就可以收手了；再晚一点的，正式工作后就不必再看了。年龄大了自己事业和习惯也定型了，看多了无用，而且不同的励志书也都差不多。

      Elbert Hubbard（艾尔伯特﹒哈伯德）《A message to Garcia》（把信送给加西亚）是一本影响极大的励志书，在中国有多个译本。其中有些话确实对年轻人有用：

No matter how good times are, this sorting continues, only if times are hard and work is scarce, the sorting is done finer- but out and forever out, the incompetent and unworthy go.

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than other think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible.

Don’t ever let it be said that someone else expected more of you than you expected of youself. If anyone finds fauld in a job which you have done that is less than excellent, don’t make exceses. Admit that it was not your best. Don’t stand up and try to defend yourself.

A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success. There is no failure except in no longer trying. There is no defeat except from within, no really insurmountable barrier save our inherent weaknes of purpose.

This bad habit of fault – finding, criticizing and complaining, is a tool that grows keener by constant use, and there is grave danger that he who at first is only a moderate kicker may develop into a chronic knocker, and the knife he has sharpened will sever his head.
