饶毅《科学的争论》引Francis Crick的原话：“Politeness is the poison of all good collaboration in science. The soul of collaboration is perfect candor, rudeness if need be. A good scientist values criticism almost higher than friendship: no, in science criticism is the height and measure of friendship.”

我意译一下：彬彬有礼是科研中良好合作的毒药。合作的灵魂是直率坦诚，如果需要的话可以无礼。前提是大家在科学上身份是平等的，因为如果有人资格比其他人老，那么礼貌之蛇就会潜入。优秀的科学家差不多视批评高于友谊：不对，应该说在科学上批评就是衡量友谊的高度和尺度。

国内环境，研而优则仕，官大一阶压死人。能够做到在科学争论中身份平等吗？首先，前提就不存在。当然，争论可以无礼，只是说在需要的时候，更多的时候能够坦诚直率就可以了。更不能赤祼祼地人身攻击。
