I think the major functions of a mobile phone is to make telephone call and send messages. So when many people possessed smart phone and suggested me to have one, I told them my present one still could be used and the most important was that it could be in function for consecutive 8 days without charge. As for reading news and receiving or sending emails, I can use my desktop computers in the office and at home, and also use my laptop notebook when I am in other cities. In order to catch up with the technology development,  this Spring Festival, I made great resolution to buy a smart phone with price close to a laptop notebook. 

At first, I felt I was completely out of date. I even didn't know how to pull the screens or run some very simple functions. But only a couple of days I had been  familiar to most of the functions, and could use the smart phone to take photos, talk to my friends via the WeiXin (a software provided by the Tenet company that one can leave voice messages to his/her friends ), login QQ, visit internet, search travel route by the GPS map, search the closeby banks, restaurants, post office, schools and so on easily and conveniently, find friends or strangers closeby, also send onsite photos to the internet immediately.

From the multiple functions, we can see telecommunication technology has really been greatly developed.  In spite of the many benefits that smart phones can provide, there are many issues coming with it. Everyone can position us if we are using the smart phone. Many of our sensitive information will be exposed if we send our contact information to the Cloud Storage provided by the Tenet or some other service providers, or when our smartphone were stolen or lost. The privacy protection and personal informaton safety have become extremely important. To protect my self privacy,  I didn't share my friend contact information to the Tenet Cloud storage, and cut myself from internet when I didn't use it. I set a password for my smart phone  so that no one could open it freely.  I know even this, they can obtain our personal information in other ways, but at least it's not so easy for them to obtain it.
