Translation is what I have tried to avoid. It's not that I don't know how to translation a research paper in Chinese into English; it's the time and energy involved. So far, I have only translated two papers, one for my beloved mentor (for a book that collects his major publications), and anther for a big client who was running out of time to beat a deadline, which was 2010.
Yesterday, a lady convined me to pick up my translation skill again. I started by saying no, no, no. And, I offered to help her to find a company that does decent translation, and I would do English editing to make sure it's done properly. Well, she was so good at getting what she wants, and I finally said that I will translate one paper for her...
It's hard to say no to a smart, graceful lady, even for a lady. (Ok, the bottom line is that I do have time to spare, and I need more income to support myself.)
