Have you ever dreamed of publishing in Science? Richard Stone, the Asia News Editor for Science, gave a talk for the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences about what you need to do to fulfill this dream. To me the most striking things were: 1) Richard’s assertion that you don’t need to be famous or American to publish in Science. 2) Although only 30% of submissions get sent out for peer review, nearly a third of these papers are eventually published. These aspects fit with my experience as a member of the international scientific community. Here, I have a PDF version of the talk, which contains:
A breakdown of the subjects Science publishes in
Answers to the question “What makes a Science article?”
Strategies for writing your cover letter
Examples of papers that get published
I am excited to share this with you, and we hope that it helps to make your hope of publishing in Science a reality. Also, we encourage you to go to www.sciencemagchina.cn for more information.
All the best,
Daniel Broaddus
