下雪让周围很安静，其实适合读书。

伍连德研究所的老师赠书-伍连德自传（Plague Fighter-The Autobiography of A Mordern Chinese Physician）。

前一段时间，从伍连德文集中有几段读到一些，希望利用寒假时间能看完。

伍连德自传序言：Preface（以下从书上打字出来，不翻译是怕无法忠于原文）

The old China, to which the author had devoted the best part of his life, from the later days of Manchu dynasty through the formative years of the Chinese Republic until the collapse of the KUOMINTANG regime, is still fresh in the minds of many, and it is hoped that the ascendency of the new Chinese People's Goverment may result in the continued happiness and prosperity of that great country, which in the course of 4000 t0 5000 years of history has see so many triumps and vicissitudes before achieving its present status in this ever-changing world.

末尾致敬李约瑟博士，也是他剑桥的师兄了，这两个人让西方了解了中国：李约瑟让西方了解了古代的中国；伍连德让当时的西方了解了中国科学家。
