港大百周年杰出中国学者计划

香港大学在2015-2016年度设立了《港大百周年杰出中国学者计划》（HKU Centennial Distinguished Chinese Scholar Scheme）。它的目的是为更进一步加强与内地顶尖学者的科学交流。港大校长出面邀请被遴选出的内地学者，来港大访问。内地学者将在港大主持一场《百周年杰出中国学者公开讲座》及一场《百周年杰出中国学者科学讲座》，与港大师生、校友及市民大众分享在不同领域的宝贵经验和真知灼见，并与港大同事商谈、计划将来的科研合作。

中国水利水电科学院陈祖煜院士，学养精醇、享誉国际，在边坡和水工建筑物稳定性分析等领域的贡献尤钜。港大马斐森校长已经邀请他在今年3月5日到9日莅临港大访问5天，并用英文主持相关讲座。

陈院士的《百周年杰出中国学者公开讲座》题目是“三峡工程从2008年到2016年试水期间的表现”。时间是3月7日晚上6点；地点是港大主校园研究生楼的王赓武演讲厅；讲座语言：英文。

报告英文摘要

In 2008, the Three Gorges project started its trial impoundment period, which allows the water level to reach its design elevation 175 m. This lecture is divided into two parts. Part I reviews the benefits brought about by this project including flood and drought control, power generation and navigation. Part II covers the environmental and ecological impacts including river sediment and scouring, reservoir induced landslides and earthquake, water quality and, in particular, changes in river-lake relations that have raised serious debates currently in the profession and media in China concerning the issue of constructing Boyanghu Lake gates.
