   美国古植物学家Gary Upchurch分别于1978年和1981年在密歇根大学(University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)获得植物学专业的硕士和博士学位。他的博士学位论文主要研究了早白垩世被子植物叶化石的角质层及其演化。

   Gary Upchurch博士毕业后曾跟随David L. Dilcher(1936--)[Indiana University--Bloomington]和Jack A. Wolfe (1936--2005)[U.S. Geological Survey--Denver]从事博士后研究。

   自1991年至今,Gary Upchurch供职于Texas State University生物系(San Marcos, TX)。

   1997年,Gary Upchurch服务美国植物学会古植物学分会,担任主席。参见:
