美国泥盆纪植物化石专家--

James D. Grierson (1931--), Cornellian

   自20世纪20年代以来，美国康奈尔大学成为古植物学研究和人才培养的重要平台之一。美国科学院院士、古植物学家Harlan P. Banks(1913—1998)在康奈尔培养了很多专攻泥盆纪植物化石的学生。其中，James D. Grierson(1931--)于1962年从康奈尔获博士学位，他在其博士学位论文中研究了产自纽约州的泥盆纪石松。

   James D. Grierson在其职业生涯主要供职于纽约州立大学Binghamton分校生物科学系（Department of Biological Sciences, State University of New York, Binghamton, N.Y. U.S.A）[注：该大学现改称“Binghamton University”]。
