   谁是“C.A.Brown ”呢？

   为了节省空间，美国植物学会古植物学分会官方网站在表格中对名字采用了缩写形式。起初，我怀疑，“C.A. Brown ”可能被误写，也许是著名古植物学家R.W. Brown吧 [i.e. Roland W. Brown (1893--1961)]。

   但是，通过检索文献我发现20世纪美国古植物学（大化石）研究中罕见“C.A.Brown ”之作者，而现代植物学和孢粉学文献中有“C.A.Brown”，也就是Clair Alan Brown (1903--1982)。当时，他担任Louisiana State University （Baton Rouge, LA）植物学教授。

1925：Bachelor degree of sciences，State Forest College of NY；

1926：Master degree of arts ，University of Michigan；

1934：Ph.D., University of Michigan；

   Clair Alan Brown在University of Michigan完成博士学位论文，可能涉及到以下出版物：
