已故美国孢粉学家Gerhard Otto Wilhelm Kremp（1913—1994）出生于德国柏林，1955年移居美国。他生前编辑了40多册《化石孢子和花粉目录》（Catalog of Fossil Spores and Pollen），受国际同行欢迎。

1913年：出生于德国柏林；

1937年：获得本科学历（Teachers College in Cottbus）

1945年：获得博士学位（University of Gottingen，the degree of Dr. rer. nat. in Geology ），论文题目是“Die Flora des Braunkohlenlagers von Konin an der Warthe auf Grund der Pollenfuehrung”，指导老师为Professor Paul W. Thomson。

1939：服兵役（German Army）

1945—1947：research assistant in the Geological Institute of the University of Gottingen；

1948—1954： palynologist in the Geologisches Landesamt(Geological Survey) of Nordrhein-Westfalen located at Krefeld, West Germany；[The Director of the Coal Geology and Paleobotany Division of this organization at that time was the famous Dr. Robert Potonié （18889--1974）, one of the principal founders of the science of paleopalynology.]

1955：emigrated to the United States where Dr. Kremp accepted an appointment as a senior research associate in the coal petrographical laboratory of Dr. William Spackman at the Pennsylvania State University；

1959—1960： a palynologist at the Denver Branch of the U.S.Geological Survey; later that year he was appointed as an Associate Professorof Geochronology in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizonain Tucson；

1978：退休（University of Arizona in Tucson）
