    我理解中国国家自然历史博物馆的使命是：立足中国，放眼世界，为全人类增加知识和传播知识（“increase and diffusion of knowledge for mankind”）。

中国是一个伟大的国家，建立中国自然历史博物馆只是时间上的问题。

科学信念和专业精神指引我们不辱使命。
