American-born Chinese or “ABC” is called “土生土长的美国华人”. These Chinese are born and bred in the United States. They are also called “黄香蕉”, meaning that they have yellow skin but with the culture and life style of white people.
Dr. Carole T. Gee is an American-born Chinese. Carole completed her undergraduate study in Pomona College, California and got her B.A. in Biology (Concentration in Botany) in 1981. Carole got his Ph. D. in Botany (Research Specialization in Paleobotany) from University of Texas at Austin in 1987. Her supervisor was world-famous palaeobotanist Professor Theodore Delevoryas(1929--).

Dr. Gee’s research field covers the Tertiary fruits and seeds of the Lower Rhine Embayment, Germany; Actuopaleobotany of recent carpological deposits; Eocene Nypa mangroves; morphology and systematics of Mesozoic plants as well as ancient Araucaria as a potential sauropod dinosaur food plant.
