Dr. Ye-ming Cheng (程业明) is a young palaeobotanist of the Department of Stratigraphy and Palaeontology of the Geological Museum of China (中国地质博物馆) located in Beijing, P.R. China.

Ye-ming Cheng began his graduate study majored in botany in the School of Life Sciences of the Northeast Normal University (东北师范大学) in Changcun city, Jilin Province, NE China in 1998 and got his M.Sc. degree in 2001. Then, he continued his graduate study in Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences (中国科学院植物研究所) in Beijing and got his Ph.D. degree in 2004. Dr. Cheng conducted his two-year post-doc research about wood anatomy in the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences (中国林业科学研究院) in Beijing from 2004 to 2006.

Dr. Cheng focuses on the study of fossil woods and palaeo-environments. Part of his recent publications are listed below:
