Dr. Sanping Xie (解三平) is a young Chinese palaeobotanist, who is currently working in the School of Geological Sciences and Mineral Resources of Lanzhou University (兰州大学地矿学院) located in Lanzhou city, Gansu Province, northwestern China.

Sanping Xie began his undergraduate study majored in geology in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences of Lanzhou University (兰州大学资源环境学院)in 1997 and got his B.Sc. degree in 2001. Then, he continued his graduate study majored in palaeontology and stratigraphy in this school and got his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 2004 and 2007 respectively.

Dr. Xie’s research fields covers the study of the Cenozoic plants and palaeo-environment. A list of his recent publication is given below:
